| The Extreme Decibel Big Band's trombone players (a.k.a. "Bones of Death") have been playing (and drinking) together as a section in town for an astonishing 30 years! Doug "Work Release" Robinson has been the leader of the bone section since the very beginning. Doug is a top call trombonist in the Phoenix area, and the EDBB is proud and thankful to have his crisp sound leading the section (with thanks to Sheriff Joe). Vince "Bootie" Wedge relocated here from the frozen tundra of Alaska after hearing that there was an opening in the Decibel Band. Being such a fine trombonist, he easily passed the "audition", and the rest is history. Vince is also active in AJEA, and is currently the director of bands at Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Arizona. John Wise is also an original "Extremer" and rounds out the section admirably. He is one of the finer jazz trombonists in the Valley, and has worked with many shows and national acts. He is also the owner of perhaps the highest metabolism known to man. On the big horn, Fred "who needs a microphone?" Boyd brings his enormous sound and enigmatic style to the EDBB with a bravado hitherto unknown in these parts. Other frequent guests: Mike Yanez, Kevin Hilditch, Casey Rabe, Matt Lennex |
