Formed in 1987 by bassist Mike King and trumpeter Clark Krueger, the Extreme Decibel Big Band is one
of the Southwest’s longest running big bands.  A 17-piece group featuring many of the top musicians in
the Valley of the Sun, it is widely regarded as one of the top big bands in the entire Southwest.  Previous
engagements include the Saguaro Jazz Festival, the Herberger Theater, Phoenix Symphony Hall, and
the Kerr Cultural Center, in addition to dates at numerous clubs around the Valley and in Flagstaff.

The Extreme Decibel Big Band boasts a current repertoire of well over 300 arrangements, including
classic and contemporary big band tunes, and many original compositions and arrangements penned
by their resident composers, Auggie Mendoza, Mike Shellans, Mike King, Bill Maley, and Jon Montgomery.  
Now entering its 20th year, the EDBB continues its long tradition of high energy big band sounds
